GOLIATH: We looked out one afternoon, and saw the passengership Nordkapp at bay near the local yacht club. How they had managed to manouevre themselves into the swarm of leisure yachts is a mystery to us.
The city of Bergen is a little special to us, because it is the last Norwegian port of call that we will be visiting for the next three years. Now it is the big world waiting for us, and our circumnavigation of the planet can start for real. We are already more than a week late. This has many reasons, but we have used the time here in Bergen very well. We have installed SSB-radio, satellite phone, a new stove and many other things. We have also taken several radio transmitter courses.
BERGEN: Our stay in Bergen has been somewhat prolonged due to countless errands we had to run and things we had to do. But we are now almost ready to cross the North Sea, and we expect to be leaving today, Monday, if everything works out.
Busy days in Bergen

In addition, we have been very sociable, bid many friends farewell and enjoyed ourselves in the fantastic weather that has prevailed in Bergen for the last two weeks!

But now we are growing impatient, and we only have one more errand to run tomorrow, and off we go, towards Shetland.
